1-DA Team Rider @tombutland does it again🥇
This time surfing for the Oakura Boardriders Club, Tommy claimed the win in the Open Mens division of the @southislandsurfingassociation Canterbury Men’s Champs event. 👏🔥
Not only did he post the highest single wave score of 8.63 in the division, he also posted the highest heat score of 16.9 in the division, both offered up in the final to really cement his place as a powerhouse surfer.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to 1-DA Team Rider @tombutland being crowned 🤴 at the 2026 @backdoor_nz King & Queen of the Point at Manu Bay, Raglan.
Having battled through a field of 112 surfers in the Open Men’s division, then to be in a close final with a storm closing in fast, Tommy showcased his talent in true Tommy style with his massive carves. 🔥💪
This win secures his Wild Card position for the upcoming @wsl Corona Cera New Zealand Pro starting 15 May. 👏👏👏

The 1-DA boys doing us proud, with some stunning performances at the @wbbrc_ Shimmering Waters King of the Coast series.
From Puniho to Paora to Tuiraho, the competition was fierce.
With over 30 surfers showcasing their talent, we’re proud to say it was 1-DA Team Rider @tombutland posting both the highest heat score of the series with 19.17 and a Perfect 10 both during event #2. 👏🙌
But it was fellow 1-DA Team Rider @jrodnz with his consistent results across all 3 events to finish almost 300 points clear of the field who was the overall winner and, for another year running, crowned King of the Coast. 👑 🏆

1-DA dominated the finals again at the Carve 2025 Super 8 Series at Fitzroy Beach, this time at Event #3 with the top 3 finalists all riding 1-DA.
With just 0.13 points separating the top 2, it was 1-DA team rider @tombutland who again took the win, closely followed by fellow 1-DA team rider @jrodnz, and 14yo 1-DA warrior @koa_gillespie123 claiming 3rd.

Last month we saw 1-DA dominate the finals in the wild weather during Event #2 of the Carve 2025 Super 8 Series at Fitzroy Beach, with 3 out of the 4 finalists all riding 1-DA.
At the end of the final, it was 1-DA team rider @tombutland who took the win, closely followed by fellow 1-DA team rider @jrodnz and 1-DA warrior @koa_gillespie123 at just 14yo claiming 4th.
Tommy scored equal 2nd highest single wave score (shared with fellow 1-DA rider Chip) with a 9 pointer in the final. He also scored the highest total wave score of the event too, posting a 15.83 in the final. What a spectacular way to come back from injury!

Congratulations to @jrodnz who dominated the pumping waves of the 2025 WBBRC Triple Crown Shimmering Waters Summer Series, taking the overall champion and title "King of the Coast" on Sunday.🏆🔥💪
Riding his favourite PU high performance 5’ 9”, he claimed multiple wins and standout performances along the way, including:
🥇Event #1 at Stent … highest heat total, highest single wave score and winning the event;
🥇Event #3 at Puniho … highest heat total, highest single wave score and winning the event; and
🥇Entire Series … highest heat total of 17.63 and highest single wave score of 9.13.
1-DA owners also dominated the series, with overall rankings seeing JZ take 🥈riding a borrowed (but now his!) 1-DA epoxy ELITE 6’ 0” round tail and Chip take 🥉 riding his 1-DA epoxy MULTI 5’ 11”. JZ also claimed the 2nd highest single wave score of the series, after posting a 17.60 at event #2 at Rocky Point in the final, which he won.

CONGRATULATIONS to @jrodnz taking out 🥇 the 30+ Mens division at the Te Kaika 2024 South Island Surfing Championships with a very convincing 16.30 total in the final, finishing 5.8 points clear of 2nd place.
And just to top it off, JRod’s 16.3 total wave score and 8.5 single wave score in the final were the highest of the division. JRod was also the only surfer in the division to post any single wave scores over 7 points, and he did it 3 times!!!
JRod also made it into the final of the Open Men event, finishing 4th.
